Some things we managed to get done:
Finally plant my seedlings in the ground. I've had them acclimatizing to the outdoors for almost two weeks--the rain put off the planting for a little too long. I hope they will be okay on their own...
Seed a second sowing of lettuce. This will give us a longer season of eating fresh lettuce from the garden throughout the summer.
Choose a pretty wicker basket for my bicycle to fill with farmer's market buys and bottles of wine from across town. I absolutely hate having to take my car for short errands in our small town, just because I don't have a means to carry things home with my bike. No worries anymore--I will imagine that I am bicycling in France, or Italy, or Germany, you get the idea...
Order a rain barrel for our backyard. A local initiative to save energy and the environment. Watering plants will be so much more earth-friendly, and we'll save dollars on our water bill.
Clean out and organize our garden shed...much needed.
Give our patio a facelift. We replaced some broken concrete pavers and put down fresh mulch around the entire area, covering up the dirty old crushed rock. I also picked up some lovely seat cushions for our bistro set for $2.50 each!!! Small improvements make a huge impact, and the patio is so much more inviting and clean looking now. Lovely spot for morning coffee and candlelit dinners...
Give myself a "spa" pedicure on the patio after all my hard work. My feet look great!
End the weekend with the movie Bottle Shock. Next on our itinerary--trying more Californian wines! If you are a fan of the movie Sideways and of wine, you'll find this film enjoyable as well.
I'm not the only one out and about, enjoying the sunshine. I found this little bumblebee busy in my flowers this morning too...
Enjoy your Monday!
Love your new look!
