Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so I thought I'd try a little art project to help Ari get into the holiday spirit. I've done a snowflake version of this craft with my students and it turned out beautiful. Here I simplified the process slightly to make it easy enough for toddlers to do, with a little help. We hung our hearts up in the living room window and they are beautiful!
Coffee Filter Hearts
Materials needed:
Coffee filters cut into heart shapes
Markers
Water
Paint brushes
First, colour the hearts with markers. There are no rules on how to do this...have fun. Ari's scribbles looked really pretty after the next step.....
Next, "paint" the hearts with water. Get the whole thing wet. The marker will bleed and create a watercolour effect.
Lay the hearts out to dry. A drying rack or paper towel will do.
Hang them up to display! We used a bit of pink washi tape to stick them on our front window.
A cute, simple craft for your toddler. Happy Valentine's Day!
