Being the eternal optimist that I am, I believe that spring WILL eventually arrive...even though my backyard is still currently (and unseasonably) under snow. To help maintain this positive mindset, and build excitement, I have decided to work on my spring bucket list:
- Have hubby build me raised garden beds for the kitchen garden and fill beds with a "lasagna" garden (layers of different compostable materials)
- Wear my rubber boots
- Scour thrift shops for supplies to create some of the Pinterest garden decor ideas I've spotted
- Buy garden seeds (I seed directly outdoors)
- Work my way through my spring cleaning - you know, one step at a time :)
- Revisit my reflection of 2012 and tackle some of the problem areas I cited from last year
- Give my patio area a bit of a makeover - I already purchased a new dining set. Now I want to find some new statement containers to complete the plan
- Visit alllll of the greenhouses and be inspired by what I find! I never really choose my colour scheme until I start shopping
- Attend the annual used book sale in town to stock up on summer reading
- Re-stain the decking at the back door, paint the cottage chairs (I'm thinking navy!), and replace the cushions
- Plan to plant lots of veggies and herbs that we can use with our new juicer
- Enjoy the long awaited sunshine!
Looks like it will be a busy season, if it ever arrives!
