Yikes. The last two weeks I've missed my Friday post. Maybe I should be calling it Six Senses Saturday? Life's been a little busy lately, but it's finally the weekend and time to relax!
Seeing
One of my houseplants gradually be eaten by my cat. I think it's pretty much finished now.
Hearing
New Kathleen Edwards album
Tasting
Tea on a cold night
Smelling
My vanilla coconut candle
Feeling
The icy cold winter wind - which finally hit us this week after a beautiful break from our typical Canadian winter! Here is a poem I found this week that captures the feeling:
"Canadian January Night" - by Alden Nowlan
Ice storm; the hill
a pyramid of black crystal
down with the cars
slide like phosphorescent beetles
while I, walking backward in obedience
to the wind, am possessed
of the fearful knowledge
my compatriots share
but almost never utter:
this is a country
where a man can die
simply from being
caught outside.

Have a wonderful winter weekend!
