The Prairie Sparrow

I've done it. I went ahead and opened up a second shop on Etsy. The Prairie Sparrow is an offshoot of Little Knits on the Prairie. Why did I make a second shop? Well, I wanted Little Knits to stay focused on knits for babies, toddlers and children and not feel over-cluttered or unfocused if I would have added accessories for women and the home. Thus, The Prairie Sparrow is born!

My second shop is all about cozy knits and accessories for home and for you. I've been working on these beautiful felted bowls, which can be purely decorative, or serve as pretty little containers to hold jewelry, office supplies, and other small objects. They are first hand knit in a loose shape using 100% wool and then felted using hot water and lots of agitation. I dry them on a bowl form for a couple of days before adding cute little buttons.

I have also been super attracted to these beautiful cowl scarves that are so popular right now. I've made two styles. One is a twist cowl that goes around the neck only once. The other is an extra long circle scarf that can be worn long or doubled around the neck for extra warmth. They are hand knit in a seed stitch (which gives it a bumpy textured look) using super soft lamb's wool acrylic blended yarn that comes in so many beautiful colours.

I have a couple of other ideas in my head for more items to add into this shop, it's so much fun to create!

Enjoy!
