I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend! We managed to squeeze in one last camping getaway before back to school and the fall weather begins to set in. It's hard to believe that it is September already! We headed out to Riding Mountain National Park to tent for a couple of days with friends. We had a lovely weekend, with mostly great weather and plenty of activities to keep us busy. In fact, I was so busy that I forgot to take a lot photos, so enjoy the few that I have!
My sister and I bicycled from our campground to Deep Bay, a childhood favourite spot to enjoy the water. We soaked in the sunshine and crystal clear water here one morning....checking off the final thing left on my summer bucket list for this year - spend a day at the beach!
Near Deep Bay there are two beautiful old log cabins that host the park's Artist in Residence each year. This year a poet lives in these cabins!
I enjoyed riding my bike around the park. It makes is so much easier to get around!
We also biked past a lot of colourful canoes hiding in the woods, although didn't have the time to get in one ourselves. Next time!
I think we decided on our way home that two nights was not long enough of a holiday in the park. Next time we will head out there for a longer stay! It's such a wonderful place to spend a holiday.
