Ari's Digging Spot

Ari's digging spot has been finished for quite awhile now, but I forgot about taking some photos to share on here!  We ended up doing a much more simple outdoor play area than the ideas I had found on Pinterest.  We found that one load of sand was exactly what Ari wanted and didn't feel we needed to add 'quarry' rocks to it -- they probably would have ended up all mixed together and messy after a little while anyway.  The sand alone makes the area more friendly for Maris too - she loves playing in here with her brother!

All we did was buy a yard of sand and shovelled it into a nice shady area of our backyard.  We used some logs as a border to keep the sand somewhat contained, although, it is travelling over the border a bit already.  It is quite a big area to play, and gives us a beachy feel to our backyard!

The kids have both been so entertained with the sand area...definitely worth losing a bit of yard space for!
