You may remember my first attempt at this project two years ago, which didn't go the way I wanted. Last year I was too pregnant to handle paint, but this year I had a huge brain wave come over me that I knew would work (and it did)! I am completely excited about how my new GROW sign turned out for my garden. Here's a quick tutorial on how I made my sign this time:
Supplies:
Plates with a pattern (I wanted vintage floral plates, but couldn't find any hunting in thrift stores, so I bought inexpensive patterned melamine patio plates)
Large letter stickers, I found these at Michael's Craft Store
Spray paint, I like using Krylon as it sticks to just about any surface!
Thrift store picture frames, I still had these from my first try at the project

Tutorial:
- Gather supplies
- Stick letters down on plates, making sure to center them. Stick them down well so that the paint won't bleed underneath the sticker.
- Spray plates and picture frames with paint as per directions on the spray can. Let dry. Carefully peel off the stickers for a reverse look.
- The finished plates...amazing!! I love how the blue and turquoise letters pop off the black background. The frames were painted blue to match the plates.
