I thought I'd share a quick pic of the Mother's Day craft I did with my students. There were three parts to this gift.
First, we made these clay garden markers. I used air-dry clay to make the project a little quicker and cost-effective, but I definitely would recommend using the oven-bake variety if I would make these again as ours are a bit fragile, and I'm not sure how well they will hold out in wet weather. They do look cute, though!
Second, we made a flower "card" using a cupcake liner, construction paper and a wood stir stick. I think it adds a cute little personal touch to the pot.
Last, we decorated our flower pots with things like tissue paper, glitter and sequins. We then planted a pansy in it and put it all together. For most of the kids it was their first time potting a plant, so that made it extra-special for mom!
