March Break in Cuba

I mentioned in my last book post that I managed to get a lot of reading in on our vacation away during March.  I thought I'd share a few photos of our trip away to Cuba with you today.  It was so lovely to be able to get away from the frigid temperatures at home (it was literally -41 C the day we left) and bask in the sunshine for one week.  We stayed at the Breezes Bella Costa resort in Varadero, Cuba.  It was a lovely resort, right on the beach, with good food, clean rooms and friendly staff.

We spent most of our days lounging on the beach or near the pool, where I managed to catch up on reading.  We took one day trip into Havana, which is where most of these photos were taken.  It is a beautiful city, and I would love to be able to spend more time there one day to explore it more in depth.  We also explored the town of Varadero while we were there and took in a Buena Vista Social Club show one night (although, it was not the original group - more of a tribute band).

Cuba is a beautiful country - vibrant with colour, music and people.  While the beaches were beautiful, we would love to go again one day and stay just in Havana so we can learn more about the culture and country.

All photos are originally my own.  Photo collages created using my favourite app, A Beautiful Mess.
