The final post from our New York trip is on Central Park.
Central Park was the first landscaped park to open in the US in 1857. It is 2.5 miles long and 0.5 miles wide...an amazingly large and peaceful space nestled in amongst the skyscrapers and busyness of Manhattan!
We strolled through part of the park on a drizzly Sunday afternoon. It wasn't too busy, and everything was really green! You could see the skyscrapers towering over the trees from the park.
A peaceful place to escape the city.
The well known horse and carriage rides in Central Park. We didn't go for a ride, but they looked quite decorated up to add to the charm of the park!
Strawberry Fields - A tribute to John Lennon in the park
A beautiful haven right in the middle of Manhattan.
I'd spend another afternoon strolling through Central Park should I visit the city again.
