Brooklyn.

Today's New York post is all about Brooklyn.

Of course, this begins with a stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge, one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. The bridge was completed in 1883 and connects Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Once we crossed the bridge, which only takes about half an hour on foot, we explored the charming Brooklyn Heights neighbourhood. It was filled with quaint brownstones...

...absolutely beautiful shop fronts...

...and a wine bar where we stopped for some refreshments and a little New York Times.

Afterwards we strolled along the promenade to take in the cityscape views of Manhattan before taking the ferry back.

Although we only saw a tiny bit of Brooklyn, it offers heaps of charm and a quiet escape from the busyness of Manhattan! A wonderful afternoon.
