Thanksgiving Weekend

My husband and I decided to go on a small road trip to Minneapolis for the thanksgiving weekend. We had never really explored or experienced the downtown of the city before, so we thought we'd take our bicycles along and see what the city had to offer.

We enjoyed The Local pub, just a short walk from our hotel on Nicollet Avenue, for weekend brunch (fantastic mimosas!) and for the evening beer, wine, and food. This place was buzzing with people at all times, had a beautiful old pub interior with lots of dark wood, and colourful chairs out on the patio.

Our cycling around brought us to this beautiful cafe. I looove their autumn flower display, so beautiful!

Just around the corner, a dance studio with white paper lanterns hanging across the alleyway. Kind of magical!

The famous cherry spoon bridge in the Minneapolis Sculpture Gardens, across the road from the Walker Art Centre.

The sculpture gardens also had a greenhouse with this aisle of ivy covered archs...would be beautiful for a photo shoot

A pretty orchid growing on the wall in the greenhouse

A bike ride up and down the gorgeous and historic Kenwood Parkway neighbourhood brought us to some pretty bike paths around the Chain of Lakes. Love the fall colours! So many people were out and about this weekend, the weather was absolutely beautiful.

We had a wonderful weekend. So much good food, good weather, some shopping (gotta have that!), and time to relax. I would definitely recommend taking time to explore the downtown of Minneapolis...go beyond the mall!
