The purple coneflowers have really taken off with blooming. Plus, the seeds I scattered in spring from last year's flowers have begun growing all over the place, so hopefully I will see more plants fill up the space for next year.
My Limelight hydrangea shrubs are now blooming. I like the soft green colour of the petals.
I planted three garden phlox plants this spring and they are all blooming now--I think they are so pretty. The plants didn't grow very big this year so I am hoping that next year they will fill out some more.
My cosmo patch in the kitchen/cutting garden has really taken off, making for a grand display of colour and oodles of flowers to bring in the house.
Our apple tree is loaded with fruit. They are getting to the ripening point where they keep dropping from the tree...leaving a mess to clean up whenever it's time to mow the grass. We are going to wait to pick when more are ready so that we can bring them away to be pressed into apple juice.
Our 'Manitoba' tomato plant's fruit is ripening away. Yesterday I picked two tomatos to finish ripening on the counter. I don't eat tomatos, but P. is pretty excited about the fruit being ready.
It's been insanely hot and humid these days--keeping me super busy with keeping my containers watered early in the morning so that they don't wilt on me. Can't wait for some cooler temperatures!
