I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
Our Friday and Saturday were filled with entertaining and my last volunteer shift at this year's Fringe Festival. We had a lovely dinner in the backyard on Saturday night with a menu laden with fresh pickings from the back garden. Lettuce, cucumber, chives, rosemary and basil graced the table. It was all so good!
Sunday was a beautiful day, and aside from helping P. with some paperwork (outside, of course) we managed to fit in a short hike in the nearby hills...and a bike ride to the Dairy Queen for ice cream later.
The stream was very refreshing on our feet
These yellow daisy-like flowers were the main flower in bloom right now
There were also a few of these purple flowers in grassy meadows
It's a bit hard to tell on the photo, but there were a lot of the purple flowers in this spot
One area along the trail had a small patch of these growing--they looked like small trees with these red berry-like plumes.
I love the mixture of patchy meadows and woods in our hills. The area is quite rolling and pretty.
We're busy planning a camping and hiking getaway to Yoho National Park for next week--looking forward to some mountain scenery and air!
