Biodegradable starter pots.

It's nearly that time of year when it's safe to start seedlings indoors in preparation for transplanting them in the spring.

Last year I purchased compostable peat pots, but lately I've come across some cheaper, biodegradable repurposing ideas to make your own starter pots:


These recycled newspaper pots are made using a garden paper pot maker (found on Etsy).

This idea, from Country Living, is another smart idea that re-uses eggshells.
When planted outside, the shells will deposit calcium into the soil as they break down.
Great ideas for saving money and the earth!
